The new KDP120 digital piano is the latest addition to Kawai’s award-winning home digital instruments and an excellent introduction to Kawai’s digital piano quality.

Featuring Kawai’s Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHCII) keyboard action, the new KDP120 delivers a touch that feels and responds like an authentic acoustic grand piano action. In addition to its grade-weighted hammers, springless key mechanism, and sturdy construction, the RHCII keyboard action features Kawai’s latest triple-sensor key detection system for improved responsiveness. Among its selection of sounds is the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano. Through Kawai’s proprietary Harmonic Imaging technology, all 88 keys of the SK-EX were recorded, analyzed, and reproduced to deliver a rich and expressive playing experience. The KDP120 also features a new, improved Low Volume Balance feature for ideal expression when playing at low volume levels.

The KDP120 also comes equipped with Bluetooth MIDI technology allowing the instrument to connect with smart devices wirelessly for expanded functionality with many music applications, including Kawai’s Piano Remote and PiaBookPlayer apps. The instrument also features built-in music lessons, a song recorder, and a new modernized key cover appearance.

The Grand Feel Pedal System accurately replicates the position and individual weighting of the damper, soft, and sostenuto pedals of a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano to further enhance the KDP120’s acoustic piano-like authenticity.

PIANO REMOTE APP

The KDP120’s redesigned communication standard allows players to control the instrument’s features and operations via the dedicated PianoRemote app for iOS and supported Android devices. The app connects to the piano wirelessly via the KDP120’s integrated Bluetooth, providing an effortless way to change sounds, or enjoy the vast array of built-in music content from the comfort of an armchair.

LESSONS AND EXERCISES

The KDP120’s convenient lesson function allows aspiring pianists to learn piano with classical Czerny, Burgmüller, and Beyer, or a collection of songs from the popular Alfred’s Basic, Adult, and Premier course books. (Alfred books sold separately)

With a strong emphasis on acoustic piano realism, the KDP120 also features traditional finger exercises, scales, and warm-up drills, and includes companion books for all classical scores to further aid one’s piano development.
