Our Qualified Music Educators
Our educators are the foundation of our programs. They’re not just talented musicians; they’re passionate teachers who make learning enjoyable. Each instructor is selected for their qualifications (minimum grade 10 Royal Conservatory) teaching experience and ability to connect with students, making lessons engaging and effective. All our instructors complete criminal record and child abuse registry checks.
Lessons are tailored to fit the needs of each student. Whether focusing on technique, music theory, and/or performance, our educators adapt their teaching methods to suit individual learning styles. They aim to inspire, guiding students step by step and making the learning process a rewarding experience.
Our educators also encourage students to set personal goals, whether it’s preparing for a recital, learning a favourite song, or simply enjoying the music. They help students reach these milestones with enthusiasm and support.
School Requirements
Piano: The school will require a piano, either acoustic or digital that is in good playing condition to use for the lessons. If the school does not have a piano, the Academy of Music will loan the school a portable digital piano to use for the lessons at no cost!
Suitable space: The school will require a space to have the lessons to take place either during the school day or after school hours that is conducive to learning and is large enough to fit a piano in comfortably.
After Care program: The school will require an after-care program where students can wait for their lesson if the lessons are to be after school. If the school does not have an after-care program then lessons can made available during the school day.
Advertising: The school agrees to notify families about the piano lessons in the school newsletters, bulletins, poster, website through promotional material provided by the Academy of Music.
