Our Instructors

music instructor giving lesson

At the Academy of Music our instructors are carefully selected based on their passion for teaching music and nurturing a love of music to all students as well as their past teaching, educational and performance experience.

All of our instructors are required to hold a university or college music degree or equivalent certificate. Additionally, all teachers are required to complete a criminal record check and a child abuse registry background check.

The Academy of Music offers quality live Online music lessons via Skype and FaceTime that are fun, convenient and affordable!

Taking an online lesson is simple and you don’t need any technical knowledge. Just have a computer, laptop or tablet and internet access and you are ready to go!

Advantages of Online lessons

Online lessons are more convenient. One of the advantages of online music lessons is the convenience. It’s great that you can study music from the comfort of your own home. There’s no travel time to account for and there’s often much more flexibility when scheduling lesson times.

Ability to Recording Lessons: Students can easily record their lesson for play back during the week which is quite advantageous.

Immediate Practicing: While face-to-face students must drive home before practicing what they learned, distance students can practice immediately after the lesson when ideas are fresh and when energy levels are still high. This is an extra practice session most students will get.  The first practice session will always be of higher quality when it is done immediately than if it were done the next day, and the first practice session is the most important session of the entire week.

No Waiting:  Parents and siblings can do their own thing while one of them have lessons instead of having to wait as at a studio.

Warming Up: Students can warm up at the piano before their lesson, only stopping seconds before the lesson begins.  The piano student also gets to play their own instrument.  This would let the student show off their best playing to their teacher each week instead of their worst.

Our Students Say

We have almost 30 years of happy students!

Maria Aragon

I remember when I first started piano lessons. I was a bit scared, but my first lesson was really productive. I learned a bunch about chords and scales and all the good stuff. Most of all I had a really nice piano teacher. It was an overall good lesson, but I honestly never knew how much I would have improved weeks later, and how much fun I would have everytime I had a lesson.

Thanks for the support and love. And always dare to dream!!!
